Living in the Moment
What?! Look everyone, it's very simple. We spend more time thinking about the past rather than the future . Remember the feelings you had in your life that made you happy, or friends who made you laugh so hard you almost wet your pants. You were in the moment and had peace of mind. The truth or answers you want are always around the corner. The trick is reminding yourself to be in the moment. Wait till you see what life gives you when you start practicing this right now . And don't come in telling me it doesn't work, because I know it does.
Now this is the time of year your stress goes right out the window. Can you remember every past holiday season? Probably not because we weren't living in the moment. So do yourself a favor, take a break, get an adjustment, a massage, reduce your stress and enjoy this holiday moment. Your Dr. 2 Feel Good went through some tough years and thought he was getting an ulcer (like a knife in the gut) from the stress. The adjustments took those feelings away immediately.
When you come in, please bring some small gifts for baskets. These baskets are destined for the local battered women's shelter. The local Girl Scout Troop #3033 will be assembling them for us for delivery.
Buzz around the office
Thanks very much for all the donations for the fire victims. Your generosity proves that when times are tough, the people in San Diego are willing and able to step up. Gives yah a big warm fuzzy, huh? And 47 pounds of food was delivered to Operation Home Front for our military families. Every bit helps. Thanks again.
Special thanks to Imogene and Glenn for cleaning out their house, lots of items went to both the fire fighters and the families. Way to go!
Looks like we have enough people (victims) for the stretching class. It will be set to begin in January when we can get schedules together.
Fitness Tip of the Day
An Easy Burn
Our bodies store two different types of tissue: lean muscle and fat. Fat is fat. Muscle is muscle. One cannot turn into the other since they are not the same kind of tissue.
Lean muscle is more “active”, burning more calories at a much higher rate than fat does.
According to studies by the American Council on Exercise, one pound of lean muscle can burn 35 to 50 calories a day at rest, whereas a pound of fat burns only 2 to 3 calories per day. To build more lean muscle tissue, strength train 2 or 3 days a week.
